VBR(可変ビットレート)の場合
CBRと比べて音の輪郭がしっかりしている。クオリティ2ぐらいまでは違和感なく聞けるが、
それより下げると高域の情報量はもとより中域がかなり詰まる感じになる。女性ボーカルではつらそうな感じ。

MTRHオプションを使用した場合
ほとんどかわりはありませんが、ドラムの余韻が雑になる感じがします。しかし、それ以上にエンコーダ時間が減少するので、
一般的な使用においては問題ないでしょう。(本当にあっという間)

総括
とりあえず、手っ取り早くそこそこ音が良くてHDD容量にも優しいのは、
プリセットのstandardを使えばいいでしょう。音にこだわるのであれば、extremeという感じで十分です。
ほかにもWMAやAAC、ATRACでも作成していますので、要望があればアップします(^^;
